Where are the illimis wines made?

At Karibib Wine Craft on the Polkadraai Road, Stellenbosch. It is a shared cellar facility where a few independent winemakers make their wines.

Do you own vineyards?

No, we source grapes from carefully selected vineyards farmed by exceptional producers. We work with the same vineyards every year to ensure consistency in the wines.

Are your wines vegan?

Yes. Our wines are 100% vegan.

What makes your red wines different to most red wines?

Many red wines are made to be bold, powerful and heavily oaked. At Illimis, we take a different approach.

Our wines are crafted to be elegant, vibrant and expressive, with bright fruit, freshness and balance taking centre stage. We use oak to complement the wine, never to dominate it. We want you to taste the purity of fruit from the vineyard.

The result is wines with beautiful flavour, complexity and structure, but without the heaviness that many people associate with red wine. They’re wines made to be enjoyed with food, with friends, or simply because you feel like opening a bottle.

I don't usually enjoy red wine. Which wine should I start with?

You’re not alone. Many of our customers tell us they thought they didn’t enjoy red wine – until they tried Illimis.

If you find many reds too heavy, overly oaked or really dry on the palate, we’d recommend starting with our Cinsault. It’s fresh, elegant and fruit-driven, with fine tannins and plenty of vibrancy. It’s a style that’s approachable without sacrificing character or complexity.
